Student Drop Off Procedures
Student Drop Off in the Mornings:
All servicing districts, other than Morrisville, provide busing for BCMCS Students. We strongly encourage you to utilize this valuable service whenever possible. On or within those rare occasions wherein driving your child(ren) to school is a necessity, please be cognizant of our Student Drop-Off Procedures:
- Enter the school via the Tyburn eastbound direction ONLY – making a left turn and crossing over the double lanes from the westbound side is an illegal turn which can, and have, resulted in traffic violations.
- When entering the parking lot please remain in the far right lane throughout. If there is space available in the coned Student Drop-Off Area, then proceed with caution to that area, making sure to obey all school bus passing rules.
- If there are no spaces within the coned area, then remain in the right lane behind the bus(es). If, by chance, the wait line extends out onto Tyburn Rd., then please travel into the housing development across Tyburn Road and wait until the line subsides.
- When entering the Student Drop-Off coned area, pull closest to the curb as possible, proceeding to the furthest point along the sidewalk. There should be very little room between your car and the car in front of you when you stop. There will be a staff member located toward the furthest point along the walkway once the arrival process begins so as to assist.
- Remain in this lane at all points, making sure to begin your merge with departing busses or pass through vehicles at the initial driveway entrance / exit lane only.
- Staff members will begin to allow students to exit their vehicles at approximately 8:17 AM. As school does not officially begin until 8:30 AM, we slightly jostle this time, year to year, in accordance to the arrival of our bus departures, which is typically at 8:25 AM.
- Say your goodbyes before it is your turn to unload, as this will help keep cars moving in line.
- Students are to exit their vehicle only on the passenger side and must be able to independently get themselves out of the car. Parents are to remain inside their cars at all times. If, for some reason, your child cannot exit from the passenger side, either prepare for the child to exit the vehicle independently prior to entry in the Student Drop-Off area by preparing in one of the open parking spaces in the top lot or notify a staff member for assistance. If one is not available at the time of your departure, then continue around the lot and re-enter the arrival area.
- As school starts promptly at 8:30 AM, staff members will begin returning to the building promptly at 8:27 AM. A student will be tardy if they are not in their classroom by the official 8:30 AM start time. If you arrive after the 8:27 AM cut off time, do not leave your child off unattended. You will need to park your vehicle and walk your child(ren) into the school and sign them in tardy.
