One of the most-loved BCMCS events is the annual holiday shop. Our shop is
named in honor of Kathy Stephenson, a cherished volunteer who joyfully
organized the event for many years. While we cannot celebrate this event in
person this year, the PTO is happy to have found a way to continue this
tradition.
Our wonderful vendor, ABC123 Holiday Shops, a locally run, small business
with family ties to our school, has created an easy and secure website for your
children to use. Here they will be able to choose their own inexpensive, high
quality gifts for family and friends. Starting TODAY 11/17 and continuing through
Friday 11/20 you can visit our store at www.shopatabc123holiday.com. You will
be prompted to enter our school ID, BCMCS2020. This will bring you to our
BCMCS Virtual Shop and your child can begin shopping. Be sure to use Filters
and Categories to help simplify your shopping experience. Additionally, giving
your child a budget is a good experience in learning to spend money
responsibly. The majority of gifts cost no more than $5; most cost much less.
After making choices, students will be able to email their cart for parental review
and payment. This will allow for students shop secretly – they love surprising
you! If you’re shopping together, you will be able to check out immediately.
Please choose the ship to school option and check out using a credit card.
Before the holidays begin, your purchases will be delivered to school. Students
learning in person will take their gifts home directly. The PTO will coordinate
with the school to organize pickup for remote learners.
We all agree that this holiday season is going to look different at BCMCS and in
our homes. During the week of Kathy’s Holiday Shop, the school always buzzed
with generosity and excitement. Certainly, we will miss that this year. But we
are grateful to provide this little bit of normalcy, familiarity and joy with our
students. We wish you the happiest and healthiest of holidays!
