Volunteering

Volunteering and Visiting at BCMCS

Bucks County Montessori Charter School relies upon the efforts of parent volunteers to enrich all aspects of our school community. We are constantly amazed at the things that can be accomplished by a group of dedicated volunteers, so we invite your energy, creativity, ideas and input!

Every parent at Bucks County Montessori Charter School is asked to fulfill a minimum of three (3) hours of volunteer time per month that your child attends school in accordance with the BCMCS Charter. You may choose to fulfill these hours in a way that best suits your skill set. To conform with our charter obligations, we have created a tracking form to record volunteering activity located HERE. There are a number of ways to get involved at BCMCS, and we invite you to check out the PTA Website for opportunities available in their committees, or with activities, events and happenings that they sponsor at the school. While we encourage you to become a member of the PTA, membership is not required to volunteer with one of their events or activities. Your child’s teacher and/or classroom ambassador also post volunteer opportunities on their Teacher Pages, and, furthermore, if interested in participating with any of the after school clubs, feel free to contact Mr. Long to discuss same.

At Bucks County Montessori Charter School, clearances are required for any volunteer who may be working alone with small groups of students or an individual student in the capacity of supervision, guidance and/or control. Therefore, special volunteer clearances ARE required for parents, community members and other volunteers involved with the following activities:

  • Chaperoning field trips
  • Working/in contact/in control/in supervision with a small group of students or with an individual student, including working at holiday parties and/or functions
  • Working/being in any unsupervised area of the school
  • Driving a team/group to an activity
  • Participating in after school clubs on-site or off-site
  • For College students or other outside individuals observing the school and/or particular student(s) in the school setting

If you are a parent and would like to start volunteering, please begin by completing all required forms below. All three clearance forms needed can be found at through these links:

*All Clearance Certifications good for 60 months from verification date

*Volunteer Service Code for FBI Federal Criminal History Record 1KG6ZJ

*On the final page of the PA Child Abuse Clearance, please select "No" when asked if the organization provided a payment code, it will then wave the fee

Once all required forms are filled out, complete the volunteer process by signing the Volunteer Agreement and uploading your documents to this VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT FORM

Please recognize that visiting parents or family members of a current student attending a simple classroom presentation, birthday [or like type] party, school concert or event, or who visit the classroom for a student observation and/or participation, or whose volunteer efforts do not require direct contact do not require Clearances.
